For connecting industrial Ethernet to your ControlLogix system, the 1756-EN2T is a popular pick. It plugs into the ControlLogix chassis, uses the EtherNet/IP protocol and comes with one RJ45 port that supports 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiation. This module links your controller and distributed I/O directly, so you skip extra bridging hardware. It also bridges EtherNet/IP networks and routes messages out to devices on other networks.
